Challenge

Our client, a health-conscious startup based in the US, had already established a presence selling wellness products such as indoor infrared and cryosaunas, food supplements, and other health-related items through offline channels. Looking to scale nationwide, the company aimed to reach a wider online audience and educate consumers on the benefits of wellness routines.To support this goal, they needed more than just an online store. They envisioned a modern, reliable wellness ecommerce platform that not only made shopping seamless but also helped educate visitors on wellness routines—building trust and encouraging long-term customer relationships.The client was working within a restricted budget and tight timeline. They needed an experienced ecommerce development partner who could deliver a high-quality minimum viable product (MVP) quickly without compromising usability or scalability. That's where ITRex came in.

Our team’s responsibilities:
To meet the client’s needs, we assembled a compact and efficient team, including a business analyst, UI/UX designer, two developers, QA engineer, and a PM. Our task was to deliver a polished, fully functional MVP in just six weeks.ITRex team was expected to:
Design a clean, intuitive user interface and brand identity, including logo concepts and a modern color palette
Build a responsive ecommerce site using Shopify as the base, optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile views
Customize Shopify to accommodate unique features requested by the client

Solution

Given the limited timeline and budget, we opted for a hybrid development approach using Shopify's existing framework enhanced with both low-code and high-code customizations. This allowed us to move fast while delivering a tailored user experience. Here’s what we accomplished:
ITRex designer crafted a modern, wellness-inspired color palette and developed a visually engaging, easy-to-navigate layout to ensure a seamless browsing experience across devices. Our designer also presented several logo concepts, giving the client the flexibility to choose a visual identity that best reflected their brand.
Our team developed the wellness ecommerce platform using standard Shopify features along with customization. The customized features included:● Enhanced filtering capabilities that allowed users to look for and sort products by ratings and other preferences ● Flexible subscription models, so that customers can choose how often to reorder food supplements ● Search functionality, enabling users to go through both product lists and blog content and receive results in separate tabs ● Product recommendations engine that is driven by user behavior and browsing history ● User reviews and FAQs, which help build social proof and answer common questions
We implemented an educational blog that allows the client to publish articles on wellness topics—some designed to spark discussion with an open comment section, while others serve purely educational purposes with comments disabled.
