Streamlined user experience for scientists and researchers

ITRex helped Numa Biosciences transform an outdated OOC research platform into a modern, commercially viable solution, now branded as EveAnalytics. Our team conducted a rapid discovery phase to prioritize features for redevelopment and rebuilt key front-end modules. We further redesigned the platform's interface for intuitive navigation, revamped search functionality, integrated Stripe for subscription-based monetization, and performed end-to-end testing and compliance updates.

Challenge

Discovery phase & Feature prioritization

ITRex was tasked with conducting a discovery phase to prepare the OOC platform for a commercial launch in less than three months. During the discovery phase, we had to decide which features and modules needed to be rebuilt for the initial platform version.

Platform redesign & Code module redevelopment

ITRex was responsible for revamping the platform's select features to create an intuitive user interface, paving the way for a complete redesign Our team needed to rebuild the selected modules’ front end from scratch using React.js, with the overhaul of the remaining modules planned for future iterations

Payment functionality integration

ITRex was in charge of enabling robust payment functionality, allowing the client to easily monetize the platform through subscription fees

Project roadmap

ITRex conducted a three-week discovery phase to prioritize core features and modules for redesign and develop a roadmap for improving user experience while aligning platform functionality with business goals. To help software engineers better understand the project scope, our business analysts and product designers used a cookbook metaphor.

Flexible architecture with React.js and Django

To strike a balance between innovation and practicality, ITRex rewrote the front end of the prioritized modules in React.js while retaining other components on Django until future releases, setting the stage for a gradual transition to React.js.

Seamless payment integration

ITRex integrated the OOC platform with Stripe to enable a subscription-based monetization strategy, allowing the client to collect monthly and annual fees more efficiently while adhering to data privacy and security regulations.

Platform redesign for enhanced navigation and search functionality

We redesigned the homepage and login/signup pages, improved the search functionality, and added research listings to simplify navigation and improve discoverability, addressing high bounce rates caused by the original complex interface. The adaptive design increased accessibility and usability across all devices.

Comprehensive quality assurance

The team conducted extensive manual testing of the new React.js front end across both Windows and macOS platforms. In addition, ITRex tested the legacy Django solution for critical bugs in response to client requests, improving the platform's stability and reliability.
