To help our customer reach their goals, ITRex introduced the following changes:
●
Complete redesign of metrics dashboards
The MES system presents processed data through a number of dashboards that offer summaries of production metrics. ITRex completely overhauled these dashboards to enable our client to effectively monitor production and equipment performance. We helped create intuitive, well-defined dashboards that visualize key real-time and historical production and equipment performance data that matters most for end-users and their objectives. These include the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) metric that consists of three parameters: asset availability, performance, and quality units produced; equipment states; notifications and alerts of areas that may need attention. Our engineers fixed bugs, improved data quality, added new data to dashboards, redesigned some of the back ends, improved
data visualizations, and optimized user flows.
●
Digital twin implementation
For immediate
anomaly detection and troubleshooting, we enhanced the MES system with an
MVP version of the digital twin solution. ITRex created and customized 3D models of manufacturing facilities using the Matterport platform. As part of the task, we configured robust data collection workflows using smart sensors, edge devices, and
cloud storage technologies (AWS), and set up remote view functionality. The latter enables
maintenance teams to remotely assess the condition of equipment and monitor production processes in real time.
Alongside offering powerful insights into manufacturing operations, the digital twin solution also aids in training new employees and onboarding them to the manufacturing facility. New hires can immersively explore the equipment, layout, normal operating procedures, and safety protocols without any physical risk or potential disruption to operations.
●
The Digital Forms tool implementation
ITRex built the Digital Forms tool, which is designed to collect data from across the enterprise and enable effortless, real-time data entry. Transitioning away from paper-based processes and switching to digital forms helps automate the flow of documents and information across the enterprise, speed up workflows, ensure accuracy throughout the production cycle, boost productivity, and enhance overall product quality.
●
Integration of an AI solution
Our AI engineers built and integrated an LLM API solution into the MES system to help operators get instant responses to manufacturing-related queries like “How many units have been produced today, and how does that compare to the production target?”, “Which machines are currently underperforming or experiencing downtime?” or “How much downtime has occurred on [specific machine] today?”. The models were trained on the customer’s data.
●
Integration of the internationalization feature
As the client is looking to expand their global footprint, our engineers added the internationalization feature, which allowed us to adapt the application to the Chinese and Spanish languages.
